UPDATE 4-US shoppers spent less over Black Friday weekend | Markets | Markets News | Reuters

I’m not sure which is the takeaway. This:

Total spending for the holiday weekend rose to an estimated $41.2 billion, up 0.5 percent from a year earlier, NRF said.

Or this:

* Black Friday weekend spending down 8 pct per person -NRF

Either way, I think my dubiousness about a big Turkey Day Spendapalooza turned out to be justified.

How much did I spend in the stores?

Zero. Zip. Nada.

There will be some real bargains coming down the road a bit. I can wait.
