If he is right, all political bets are off. I think the Democrats could lose the House and effective control of the Senate. I think you would also be talking about the rise of third party and perhaps a challenger to Obama in 2012.
I think the Democrat Party could be destroyed for a generation.
In fact, I’ve been counting on that all along.

Is it wrong to hope that the GOP in its current incarnation should also be destroyed? I’m hoping for reformation, but frankly I’m beginning to think that our differences with the party leaders are irreconcilable.
No, of course it isn’t wrong to hope for that. Both parties are hopelessly corrupt, and their departure would be no loss.
That said, the urge in some men for liberty, and the urge in others for security, is not going to go away.
I’d like to see two honest parties that honestly represent one or the other, and I’d like to reform the entire system to remove the potential for corruption from it.
No, I don’t really think corporations are “persons,” nor do I believe that corporations, as entities, have constitutionally guaranteed rights that parallel those guaranteed by the Bill of Rights. I’m not even sure I’d permit organizations to donate to politicians. Let it all be done by individual citizens.
Maybe it is too much to hope for, but there is a proposal for federal term limits being floated; however, I suspect it is just grandstanding.
The problem with term limits is that it only covers politicians. What we really need is a limit on the terms of bureaucrats. The massive corruption in the dept. of Justice, and the revolving door in just about every department requires a major change in the way things are done in D.C.
No, what we need is the repeal of civil-service protection laws.
I look to the Tea Partiers for clues where the public is going. Their opposition to what is essentially the Democrats’ agenda, and their problems with the GOP establishment lead me to believe there’s going to be a push to “throw the rascals out”, meaning all incumbents. That would put newly elected Republicans in charge while eviscerating the RINO’s ranks. That sounds good to me.
If you need a ’sign from the stars’, the Chinese Year of the Tiger is known for upheavals and a changing of the guard. It may be superstition, but that sounds good to me too.
