I doubt many of the respondents to that Gallup poll could specify exactly what the “qualifications” for the President are. It’s a singular position, with qualifications that change based on current events, and the mood of the electorate. I suspect the electorate of 2012 will be looking for someone who isn’t a “community organizer” with a shady past and zero governing experience, riding a wave of uncritical media adulation and touting an education at elite universities. Palin doesn’t have the only resume that fits the bill, but nobody else’s resume is selling millions of copies at the moment.
Americans are stupid, but almost none of them voted for Obama based on his non-existent “qualification” - unless they considered “Being President While Black” as being a qualification.
Oh, wait a minute….

Affirmative action and qualifications are in opposition, aren’t they?
They must be, Steve - when you look up affirmative action, the word “qualification” doesn’t appear anywhere in any of the definitions.
Maybe we could start a list - beginning with:
1) Making speeches without lying, especially purely to get votes.
2) Having actual, real-world experience in an executive capacity.
3) Demonstrating an understanding that the U.S. Constitution is a set of binding requirements, not just nice but antiquated suggestions.
Seems like that would be a good start…especially since any one of those would have disqualified Fearless Leader from possible consideration.
4) Be a natural-born American citizen, loyal to the nation, people, and culture.
Obamarx fails the one fork for sure, and probably the other as well.
Other than the legal (and political issues that would ensue), I think the matter of whether Barry was born in the US, or abandoned his citizenship as a child only to sneak back in is irrelevant.
Whatever his actual citizenship, he was raised abroad, and in a viciously Antiamerican, anticapitalistic environment at that.
The only good he has done so far, is that just as 9/11 revealed the true intentions of Islamofascists before it was too late (not that it was not very late, and there are a lot of people here, who hate themselves more than they fear the Islamos), he has revealed the true face of government. The question now is whether enough of the pols think they can back off and get reelected, or will realize they are going to lose and will pass socialization anyway.
