Sarah Palin: Support Doug Hoffman | Facebook
The people of the 23rd Congressional District of New York are ready to shake things up, and Doug Hoffman is coming on strong as Election Day approaches! He needs our help now.
The votes of every member of Congress affect every American, so it’s important for all of us to pay attention to this important Congressional campaign in upstate New York. I am very pleased to announce my support for Doug Hoffman in his fight to be the next Representative from New York’s 23rd Congressional district. It’s my honor to endorse Doug and to do what I can to help him win, including having my political action committee, SarahPAC, donate to his campaign the maximum contribution allowed by law.
Our nation is at a crossroads, and this is once again a “time for choosing.”
This is pretty big. The GOP establishment at every level, from jack here at DP to Allahpundit to David Frum to Crap Croissant McCain will go freaking nuts at Palin daring to point out that the RINO Imperials are all naked as jaybirds.
She’s going to take a lot of fire from the usual statist suspects over this, so I want to make it clear I support her move as strongly as possible.
Take her advice. Send some money to Hoffman. If Sarah can demostrate some heavyweight influence in supporting conservatives rather than Crap Croissant RINOs, she will become a huge asset to the whole conservative movement. (via Bashir - thanks!)

I suspect that the fallout from this will be fun to watch. Probably have to a few more cases of popcorn, heh.
This is exactly what I had hoped for, indeed expected from Ms Sarah. She made her mark in Alaska by taking on the corrupt GOP establishment; kicking butt and taking names. I believe she is the best hope for redeeming the GOP or, if that proves intractable, starting a viable alternative that will do to the GOP what it did to the Whigs.
Of course the Won and crew are making her job much easier. Like you, Bill, I expected Obama to be a millstone around the neck of the donks. But I could never have believed it would happen so fast and so thoroughly. Aren’t you surprised at that?
Also, I think most media types have misread the Tea Party movement and the folks yelling at town hall meetings. They are angry with the donks, of course; the donks are in charge of the absurdities going on in DC. But there is also a major and growing anger at the betrayal by RINO’s of conservative principals. Sarah has correctly read this anti-RINO anger and is tapping into it.
I went to Hoffman’s campaign site, looked it over (Trust…but verify, right?) - guy looks like the real deal, he’s got an endorsement by Fred Thompson as well. So…I tipped his campaign kitty.
And I’m laid off right now - money well spent, though, if it’ll help squash a RINO and a Demonrat at the same time.
I too thought he would end up damaging the Democrat brand via overreach, but he certainly did it much faster than I expected. I confess to being surprised by the staggering level of incompetence he has put on display. I was well aware that O was a radical leftist, and that he would try to make his mark with transformative legislation. But I really expected some small amount of finesse. Does he not have even one competent advisor? Or does he just not listen?
I never accepted that “world-class intellect and world-class temperament” BS. That was the product of a lovestruck leftist press. But some of his miscues have been rookie mistakes that any significant connection to reality would have helped him avoid.
Healthcare and cap-and-trade should have (from a leftist point of view) been his absolutely highest priorities, because they cement the relationship of the citizen to the state to the benefit of leftists. So his best strategy would have been to have an administration full of dull drones to keep his flank covered while he got those programs in place. After that, the sense of inevitability of the leftist program overall would have let him bring on a lot more radicals and get away with it.
Instead, he stocked up on leftist freakazoids from day one. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Plus, despite the “world class temperament” claims, he’s the opposite. He shoots off his mouth without thinking, and takes on people in lose-lose situations that are completely optional fights for him.
If he fails to get a really statist healthcare bill across, this is the best possible outcome for freedom-loving citizens. Obama exposes the true face of leftism, in all it’s elitist and anti-freedom glory, while getting very little tangible legislation that changes things permanently. He will have done to the word “progressive” what McGovern et al did to the word “liberal” thirty to forty years ago.
