Hot Air » Blog Archive » Hume’s challenge to media: Do you really want the Gibbs Seal of Approval?

We already know where Jake Tapper stands on this point, but the real question is why more journalists in the White House aren’t making their position clear. Brit Hume wondered whether American journalists from other news organizations really will become the lackeys of the Obama administration by ignoring news stories originating at Fox, just because Robert Gibbs disapproves of Fox

I admire Brit Hume no end, but he already knows the answer to his question: Yes, of course they will become lackeys of the Obama administration because they are, and always have been, lackeys of the Obama administration.

They did everything they could to support his campaign, even helping to knock out Obama’s only real competition last year, Hillary Clinton.

They were instrumental in helping to ensure the nomination of John McCain, the weakest possible opposition the GOP could possibly have coughed up.

And since Obama’s coronation, to delirious huzzahs from the Mainstream Media to whom Hume addresses his question, these “journalists,” exemplified by unabashed cheerleaders at the NYT (which managed not to print stories about almost anything embarrassing to Obama or the administration) to the outright crush on Obama demonstrated by broadcast journalists like Chris “Tingle Thighs” Matthews.

So, I’m sorry, Brit, but no matter what answer you do get from the Obama-dazzled media, the real answer will be, “No. We don’t mind being lackeys of Obama’s administration, because we always have been lackeys, and nothing you can say is going to change that one bit.”
