Tonight, Dede Scozzafava, the Republican candidate for the November 3 special election in the 23rd congressional district, spoke to about 100 Republicans at the Lewis County GOP dinner at the Elks Lodge 1605. After a dinner of turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing, Scozzafava fended off criticism that she wasn’t as conservative as third-party candidate Doug Hoffman and urged her supporters to vote for her in order to keep her Democratic opponent Bill Owens from serving as a rubber stamp for Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama’s agenda in Washington.
This as as pure an example of crap croissant Republicanism as I can imagine. “Vote for me, I’m not (quite) as bad as those Democrats!”
It was a fairly typical evening–until the speech ended and someone with Scozzafava’s campaign called the police. On me.
You must not question them, pal. They’re just trying to protect you from the Evil Dems.
But I do wonder if it’s the Scozzafava campaign that’s in trouble–with a candidate who supports card check, who is unwilling to say she’d oppose a health care bill that raises taxes or includes abortion coverage, and who is so reluctant to answer questions that she has someone with her campaign call the cops when she’s questioned by a reporter who is (if I may say so) polite–if a bit persistent.
A nice summary of the crap filling in this particular croissant.
But she must be just fine. The Republican National Committee and the GOP establishment are going all out to support her. So, naturally, GOP robots who like that tasty crap ever so much better than what the Dems are serving will vote for her in droves.
Gosh, I feel so much better now that I understand how these folks just have the best interests of me, the GOP, and the nation at heart. But just out of curiosity, do you folks understand why the GOP feels free to run and support candidates like these? It’s because they know robots like you will vote for them no matter how horrible they are. Which is why you and your desires don’t matter to them at all . (via Physics Geek - Thanks!)

Well, I admit that I used to be part of the problem, so I’m as much to blame as anyone. But if the GOP continues to nominate and support turds like her, the GOP and I will have come to a permanent parting of the ways. Frankly GOP, it’s not me: it’s you.
Out of curiosity, what kind of deadline did you have in mind?
