You will be comforted to know that gracious FLOTUS feels your pain for her pain. “As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me or Oprah or the president to come for these few days,” the First Lady told a group of fellow Chicago 2016 boosters, “so many of you in this room have been working for years to bring this bid home.” Translation: Thank me, thank you, for all we do.
Never has self-congratulatory gratitude been raised to such an art form, but there was no time for loyal subjects to dwell. The selflessly indefatigable Michelle Obama had to rush off for an 800-meter wine-and-cheese dash with International Olympic Committee members, followed by a rigorous aerobic Heads of State luncheon hosted by Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and another high-heeled trek to the IOC Opening Ceremony at the Copenhagen Opera House.
Of course, it’s not entirely clear which “people” out there are saying that the Obamas’ jaunt to Denmark is a “sacrifice.”
Certainly not the families of 43 American soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines who have died in Afghanistan since General Stanley McChrystal called for more reinforcements.
It’s becoming unavoidably obvious that the FLOTUS is a repulsive yuppie overstuffed with her own self-regard, a narcissist of the worst order, a poster girl for the me-me-me crowd, and about as competent as a box of hair. She’s famous for being married to somebody who is famous (and whose fame got him Peter-Principled into an office he can no more handle than she could), but the blunt truth is that she’s not very smart, not very competent, not very good looking, not very stylish, and not very qualified to be an American First Lady. Of course, with that “job” you get what you get, so in the end, if Obama has been scheming since childhood to become President, she ends up as being just another example of his bad judgment in yet another selection process.

People say this presidency reminds them of the 1970s because Obama’s running things in a Carter-esque manner.
I think it reminds them of the 1970s because that’s when Being There came out.
That makes it four in a row. Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama.
Genes,
The first President Bush flew torpedo bombers in WW II after becoming the youngest Naval pilot in history (at the time). Look up the survival rate of torpedo bomber pilots in WW II. He then managed to become the Director of the CIA and then the Vice President. He may not have been a great President but he certainly was not a peter principle promotion.
I thought Clinton did a fine job as President. Of course I didn’t agree with most if not all of his policy ideas but that didn’t make him incompetent.
GWB certainly made plenty of mistakes but at least he had some actual experience that we could promote him into the job from.
Obama goes from state senator to US Senate, to running for and winning the presidency in less than 4 years. I’m not sure he wasn’t over his head as a state senator with all of his present votes. I’m fairly certain he was in over his head in the US Senate. We all can see he is in over his head now and we, our children and grandchildren may pay a price for his arrogant ignorance.
He has so many balls in the air that I think the world in inside his OODA Loop. So many events are happening that require focus and study to respond too that he and his brain trust are overwhelmed.
Of course many of these events were created by him. Cap n Trade, ObamaCare, Russia/Poland/Cezch, the Stimulus (because he made it life and death), the Israelis settlement issue. All of those issues could have been put on the back burner. Then of course we have the economy, Iranian nukes, Afghanistan, Iraq, oh and lets not forget North Korean nukes :).
Overwhelmed and ignorant is hardly the way to act as President.
Bush 1 couldn’t hold on to what Reagan gave him and cost his party the White House.
Clinton cost his party control of congress and then killed all hope of working with the House by insulting Newt. And damaged the Presidency almost as much as Nixon. His neglect of our military and dismantling of our human intelligence network contributed to the mess in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Bush 2 cost his party control of congress. And in his desire to be liked refused to do what was necessary in the “War on Terror”.
genes …
so what do any of those possibly valid points have to do with those men being peter principled into the job of President ?
None that I can see … you didn’t like their time as president obviously …
