Hot Air Video: GOP congressman yells “liar” at Obama; Update: Wilson apologizes
This is great stuff. Allah points out the obvious when he asks:
Where this jackass gets off lecturing Americans on civility after his cretinous cronies spent a month demagoging the hell out of every protester in sight is beyond me. You’re Mr. Clean, aren’t you, champ? And bottom-feeders like Harry Reid are your hatchet men. Nice work if you can get it.
And guess why Rep. Wilson called Obama a liar.
UPDATE: John Hawkins makes an interesting observation:
PS: The Democrats are already chipping in money to Wilson’s Democratic opponent and talking about how they’re going to beat him in 2010. Let me tell you something: It’s going to be a big Republican year and Wilson’s in a +9 Republican district. Absent a Mark Foley/Mark Sanford style scandal, they got no chance in hell of knocking off Wilson.
You know what to do about this, right? That’s right. Send Joe Wilson a couple of bucks.
UPDATE: Instapundit:
I’m finding it hard to get excited about this. It was a breach of decorum and civility. But someone who says “get in their face” and “punch back twice as hard” has little standing to bring that up. If you want to benefit from traditions of civility, you should respect them, and that has hardly been a hallmark of this administration, which has gone out of its way to try to demonize and shout down opponents.
I’d take it a step further. Something is wrong with the notion of “decorum” in public discourse when it is used to prevent calling an obvious liar a liar.
UPDATE: Dan Riehl - I Am Joe Wilson.

I just made a contribution, for saying exactly what I was thinking (without the attached obscenities) as much as anything else. However, whoever is running the contribute site is an idiot. In addition to wanting you home and work phone numbers, they demand to have your mobile number before they will process a contribution. Effing morons. However, it turns out that entering 000-0000 as a phone number works for all of those.
Not only was Wilson’s justifiable outburst in response to Ø’s lie, but I’m guessing that it was also in response to his previous remark (1 paragraph back in the transcript) in which he called Sarah Palin (not by name, but there’s little doubt who he meant) a liar.
