Bill,
I agree with everything you say here and in your original DP post.
I would add a suggestion.
Palin needs to make her primary political proposal the repeal/reversal/repudiation of EVERYTHING Hopey/Samey has passed in the way of legislation or Executive Order.
She should point out that the re-structuring of Chrysler and GM were done in a way that violated US Bankruptcy laws. That this is creating a political economy (ie - National Socialism), that is just not in keeping with American laws and beliefs, etc. She should state that this Bankruptcy procedure was illegal, and that she will reverse it through legislation.
In short, she should take his ‘Policies’ and offer a rebuttal to each of them, one after the other. She should also call for the new Congress, that will be elected in 2010, to commit to repealing ALL of Hopey/Samey’s policies. Most of the Porkulis Spending will not have been distributed by 2010, and she should call for it to be canceled/repealed.
She should also state that the TARP program, although started by Bush, was a mistake and will be dismantled IMMEDIATELY.
In other words, she should state CLEARLY that she is committed to hitting RE-START on the Obama Presidency and removing every vestige of it from the life of America.
That is a political platform that I believe would resonate with the American people.

We read it here first.
Nice oped Bill. I believe Sarah can easily get near 60% of the womens vote. She can get the conservative mens vote. With our current office holders, that would equal a win.
And there are many of us who will actively support Palin with more than money if she chooses to to run a small gov platform (which she will).
Every election is characterized as the “most important ever”. I have never characterized any past election as such. The 2010 and 2012 elections will be the first in my lifetime that I consider to be so. Either we turn back the tide of creeping communism* now or the future will be bloody.
* yes, communism. The d party is often characterized as the socialist party. The current leadership has no plans to go away. They intend to establish one party rule.
Excellent op-ed, Bill. Kind of mirrors some of my own thoughts on the matter. I was on vacation -and disconnected- for a few days and viewed with shock the news of Palin’s resignation. Then I actually read her speech and, much like Ann Coulter, thought that her words were pretty damned clear.
Is it a gamble for higher office?Sure. But the path of a go along, get along inside the Beltway GOPer trying to win, well, McCain tried that and we all saw how that turned out. I’m ready for a the big gamble. At this point, the country needs a big jolt, or it’s end game for a generation or two. Palin is, I believe, that shot in the arm. What people like us- conservatives and libertarians interested in LIBERTY as the first order of business- need to do is kick the Dem-lite Republicans in the ‘nads. Sarah Palin should worry more about backbiting Republicans than she should about the Democrats.
Bill.. you are better than Savage. You need your own radio show.
