Obama, Lee warn North Korea; missile on the move
SEOUL (Reuters) - The leaders of South Korea and the United States told North Korea to drop its atomic ambitions and stop threatening the region while media reports on Wednesday said Pyongyang was moving ahead with plans to launch a long-range missile.
In which case the NorKs are giving Obama’s and Lee’s warnings the respect they deserve, that is to say, none whatsoever.
If Iraq taught us anything, it is that when facing absolute dictators, “UN sanctions” don’t mean a thing.
And spare me the hooey about Seoul being held hostage. A President with courage would inform the NorKs that they were under a full financial blockade, as well as a physical blockade of their shipping in order to enforce any sanctions. Further, if they attacked the South, we would reply with whatever force it took to destroy their regime.
This would maintain until the NorKs either gave up their nuclear weapons, until their regime collapsed, or until we were regrettably (for the South) forced to utterly destroy their brothers to the north.
