Obama says health care this year — or never - White House- msnbc.com

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama warned Thursday that if Congress doesn’t deliver health care legislation by the end of the year the opportunity will be lost, a plea to political supporters to pressure lawmakers to act.

And a signal to those who oppose socialized medicine and a Brit/Canadian-style rationing system of medical care to pull out all the stops to oppose Obama’s schemes.

    Yeah, I’m in the district that the democrat just “won” the special election. I’m sure he’ll listen to my concerns…

    Hey, I resent that. The British have access to private care, we don’t. In Canada, if a doctor treats me, for something the gummint covers, for cash, we’re both committing a crime.

    We have NO parallel private health care system, standing in such fine company as Cuba and, IIRC, North Korea.

    The difference between Canada and Cuba and NorK is that they have no parallel private health care system because they have no health care system at all.

    You do. For a while yet, at least. Of course, once we go to socialized medicine, you guys won’t be able to free-ride off our drug companies and research facilities, as well as our care delivery system (USGovMed isn’t going to let a bunch of scruffy foreign sick people “take advantage of our tax dollars” any longer - especially since you won’t be carrying the sooper-dooper forgery-proof holographic dna-scanned medical ID card.

    At which point yes, you probably will be well and truly screwed.
