BBC NEWS | Americas | Maine to allow same-sex marriage

Gay marriage is to be permitted in the US state of Maine after a bill was passed by both houses of the state’s legislature and signed by the governor.

The dominos of bigotry continue to topple.

    No, Rob, those were smashed into rubble when we destroyed the grand old institution of marriage by permitting miscegenation.

    Or so they told us at the time.

    If Britney Spears can marry someone for all of 24 hours, I’m hard pressed to think of any damage gay people could to do to the institution.

    Frankly, I just wanted it passed through democratic means, not by judicial fiat.

    Not that I am singling out Britney Spears, all of Hollywood seems to treat marriage as a merely a press event.
