Republicans believe, based on the polling data, that Barack Obama is far too popular to attack directly.

Dumbasses.

At one point in his presidency, GWB had some of the highest approval ratings in history. How did the left bring them down? Buy attacking him loudly, brutally, and unceasingly through every venue at its disposal, from blogs to the MSM to the floor of congress.
