RIA Novosti - Russia - Obama ‘ready to drop shield plans for Russian help on Iran’
MOSCOW, March 2 (RIA Novosti) - Washington has told Moscow that Russian help in resolving Iran’s nuclear program would make its missile shield plans for Europe unnecessary, a Russian daily said on Monday, citing White House sources.
U.S. President Barack Obama made the proposal on Iran in a letter to his Russian counterpart, Dmitry Medvedev, Kommersant said, referring to unidentified U.S. officials.
Iran’s controversial nuclear program was cited by the U.S. as one of the reasons behind its plans to deploy a missile base in Poland and radar in the Czech Republic. The missile shield has been strongly opposed by Russia, which views it as a threat to its national security. The dispute has strained relations between the former Cold War rivals, already tense over a host of other differences.
Aside from the disgusting spectacle of Barack Obama crawling on his knees to beg help from the New Russian Fascists in dealing with Iran, I’m not too upset about whatever might happen to this “missile defense.” First, it is primarily designed to defend the Euros, and, frankly, I don’t give a rat’s ass what happens to them. If they don’t wish to defend themselves, I no longer see any urgent reason we should do it for them. Second, by the time the current iteration of missile defense crawls online, long-delayed and over-budget, it will be utterly obsolete anyway.

Isn’t a middling-to-useless Europe defended by missile defense better than a strident Europe under a Caliphate?
While indeed providing protection to the Euros, our selction of Poland and the Czech Republic for these defensive assets was no accident. The priority is defense of the east coast of the US.
Any US-bound ICBM from Iran MUST fly over Europe — blame Newton. Having an interceptor battery in its path gives us the earliest opportunity to take a shot.

Why do liberals think they can negotiate with a zealot like Iran’s leader. They seem to miss the fact that he wants to start the apocalypse so he can ensure his place in heavan. It doesn’t matter if they use Russia as a proxy or not. He will give the appearance of playing nice the whole while building missiles and nukes to take out Israel and us. i hope that this does not blow up (literaly) in all of our faces.
