Pajamas Media » Conservatives at CPAC Talking the Talk — But Can they Walk the Walk?
“Voters didn’t reject conservatism — they just said ‘no, you can’t’ to the Republican Party after it had failed to walk the conservatism it had talked,” ACU Chairman David A. Keene said this week.
“Republicans lost their credibility as the party of the center-right when they became specialists in earmarks and the Bush White House presided over huge increases in discretionary spending,” he added.
I’m awaiting the apologies of Bushbots and others who excoriated those of us here at DP for critiquing the Bush administration and the GOP in general for repudiating principled conservatism in a host of areas. Further, I’d like an acknowledgment that my estimate that the only way to wrench the GOP back toward conservative principles was to refuse to support them, no matter what they did, as the lesser of two evils was accurate.
Somehow, I doubt I will hear either, though.

Read your own header–talk is cheap.
Sure, they talk good when they’ve been deprived of power–even of their pathetic status as faulty brakes on the course leftward—but what good does that do us?
They can talk all they want. They can’t stop anything.
Hoping for Change isn’t a plan on the Left or the Right.
The sad thing is that the Left spouted it while knowing that it was only a tactic to get idiots to vote for them, the Right seems to be putting a lot of store in Hoping that they ‘get it’ now.
Yawn. Slow suicide is even cheaper. And dumber. And more fatal.
Talk is cheap ? I don’t think so. The expression appears to have little connection to the market place.
OT. Why is Anita Hill grouped with Journalists? And who would pay her ten grand?
Sorry Bill, I tried to resist.
jack conveniently glosses over the fact that GOP “conservatives” (and that is mostly who attends CPAC) weren’t even talking about upholding conservative principles just two short elections ago. They were talking about the Bushian family concept of a new world order, which was about as conservative as John McCain talking about rewarding criminals with amnesty.
