Not me. And anybody who thinks Bush wouldn’t have signed that Porkulus the instant it hit his desk wasn’t really paying attention to the big spender Bush really was - that, or they were smoking or otherwise ingesting one of those substances Bush was eternally trying to prohibit, at massive cost to the body politic.

    James Lileks recently mentioned that in his whole life, there’s been a substantial number of people claiming the country is going to hell in a handbasket, downward spiral, ash heap of history, etc. I don’t remember hearing that in the ’50’s, even during the ‘57 recession, and definitely not in the early ’60’s. Could this be a post-Vietnam, ’60’s radicals meme that will die out when the radicals do?
