Al Qaeda’s paramilitary ‘Shadow Army’ - The Long War Journal
Al Qaeda has reorganized its notorious paramilitary formations that were devastated during the US invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 and 2002. Al Qaeda has reestablished the predominantly Arab and Asian paramilitary formation that was formerly known as Brigade 055 into a larger, more effective fighting unit known as the Lashkar al Zil, or Shadow Army, a senior US intelligence official told The Long War Journal.
The Shadow Army is active primarily in Pakistan’s tribal areas, the Northwest Frontier Province, and in eastern and southern Afghanistan, several US military and intelligence officials told The Long War Journal on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the subject.
What in the hell is “sensitive” about this subject? Why an attempt to keep secret the fact that al Qaeda has reconstituted itself and its camps and capabilities just a few miles from its previous location, and again in an area protected by a rogue government, or rogue elements of an incompetent government, in this case, Pakistan?
Why sensitive? Because it might embarrass Pakistan? Because it might embarrass Barack Hussein Obama?
These are barbarian Islamofascist savages, dedicated to the slaughter of all who don’t bow to their savage religion, and who have undoubtedly killed Americans, and would love to kill more of us.
I repeat: Why is this “sensitive?” Because the reality of the face of our enemies might discomfit the blank and bovine brains of the kumbaya, kiss their ass crowd?
Hey, Barack Hussein Obama: Go sit at a table, face-to-face, with these guys. Leave your bodyguards at home. And then see if you can keep your head, when all about you are losing theirs.
