FDA lacks access to food safety records

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration lacks access to food safety tests that could have helped identify problems at a peanut plant at the center of one of the biggest food recalls in U.S. history, members of Congress said on Thursday.

Yep, just give the tireless heroes of the bureaucracy even more access to every aspect of our lives. Because they always get it right, and it’s not conceivable that they screwed up with the information they already had.

More importantly, the notion, that every ill could be prevented if only we would let the government take care of it, rankles. Obama’s not the only one in government with a god complex.

(Amusingly enough, when I searched for “no sparrow shall fall”, this was the first result up.)
