Daley refuses to release stimulus project list | Clout Street - local political coverage
Mayor Richard Daley said today Chicago has compiled a wish list of “shovel-ready projects” to spend federal economic stimulus funds on should Congress approve a plan.
Unlike hundreds of other cities, however, Daley said Chicago won’t make its list public.
“Yes, we do, we have our list, we’ve been talking to people. We did not put that out publicly because once you start putting it out publicly, you know, the newspapers, the media is going to be ripping it apart,” Daley said.
This is how Democrats govern: In secrecy, steeped in corruption they can’t afford to make public, hiding from the people who put them into office.
You have one Chicago thug running Chicago, and another one running the American government’s executive branch. But at bottom, both are Chicago thugs, and only know a few things: secrecy, strongarm tactics, and a corruption so deep in the bone it can never be removed.
UPDATE: No wonder they want to keep things secret in Illinois.

Couldn’t a list like that, once submitted to The Obamanation, be obtainable through a FOIA filing?
Having had to once endure a year in the Sovereign Empire Of Illinois, this is nothing more than I would expect from its Lord High Imperial Majesty, the Daley Machine. The Cook County Crooks have been the tail wagging that entire dog of a state just about forever.
Your naivete is so cute!
Yeh, yeh, okay, a FOIA filing and a couple of those “assault weapons” they keep screaming about, maybe?…
