Sources: Sen. Judd Gregg accepts commerce secretary post - CNN.com
WASHINGTON (CNN) — Republican Sen. Judd Gregg of New Hampshire has accepted President Barack Obama’s offer to be commerce secretary, two administration officials said Monday.
Sources tell CNN Sen. Judd Gregg will be President Barack Obama’s choice for commerce secretary. The officials said the official announcement is expected Tuesday morning.
If Gregg moves to the Cabinet, New Hampshire’s Democratic governor would appoint a replacement.
What a cheap whore. Not that the Dems didn’t already have a filibuster-proof Senate majority, with the RINOs already in residence there.

Maybe not. I was barely listening to tv news, so may have gotten it wrong. The deal seems to be a R will replace Gregg, who apparently didn’t want to run for the senate again anyway.
Maybe so. After all, it is the One he will be
workingwhoring for.And if the governor goes back on that deal and appoints a D, what will happen? We’ll huff and puff and write a stern letter? We’ll sue I tell ya, we’ll sue yas all, every last one of yas. We’ll never speak to Obama or the governor again? We won’t vote for Obama again? What will conservatives do if they reneg on this “deal”?
Any thought from the commentators on the over/under this clown now picks a Dem or a RINO that makes McCain look like a Conservative? If that RINO ends up voting with the Democrats on nearly every single party line vote, then what?
Or supposing, with or without your conjectured double-cross, that once Gregg is safely out of the Senate, the Won then fires him and nominates someone else?
He would never do that.
What sort of a RINO do you suspect that Dem governor will appoint?
Over at Ace’s, they’re saying it’s going to be Bonnie Newman, Gregg’s former chief of staff. How much of a RINO is she? She endorsed Lynch in the 2004 governor’s race.
Not to worry. The Governor has offered a public, iron-clad guarantee to appoint a Republican replacement for Gregg:

Or…um…not.
A quick scan of the Union Leader’s opinion pages seems to suggest that they’re pretty happy with the Newman appointment.
With people leaving this state and heading up there, NH is quickly becoming North Massachusetts anyway. I don’t see Gregg’s reelection in ‘10 as a given. I like the idea of as many conservatives as possible ending up in the Obama admin., but it would be better if they weren’t taken from a pool of sitting officeholders.
^ That was my comment.
Why would he think that Obama will listen to any conservative he might take into the administration and as Bill points out, how long would he keep them? Just long enough to establish his BS “bipartisan” creds. Matter of fact, does Gregg really believe he’ll really be running Commerce? He won’t be. Everyone under him will be Obama loyalists. He’ll be like the nerd in high school who’s finally invited to the Big Party, but given an address on the other side of town. When he gets there it’ll be, Hey, where is everyone - Hello? Helloooo? Anybody there? I have some great ideas for Commerce party games! Anybody there, anybody listening…
