House passes economic stimulus plan - The Oval: Tracking the Obama presidency
The House of Representatives just approved the estimated $819 billion economic stimulus plan favored by President Obama. The vote was 244 in favor to 188 against.
All 178 Republican members voted against the plan, according to the chart that C-SPAN was updating.
Part of this is smoke and mirrors. At least some of these Republicans plan to come back and vote yes on the bill after the House-Senate reconciliation returns for a final vote. But for now, at least, the GOP is acting as a unified political party.
I doubt the Senate Republicans will do as well, but we’ll see.
Anyway, for the time being, congratulations, GOP! You’ve done well!

Which 10 Democrats voted nay and why? It didn’t give enough away, perhaps?
