Democrats and some union leaders we’ve contacted say furloughs are a ham-handed approach. Some claim they’d prefer a more surgical strategy of identifying programs that are outdated or of lesser priority, and cutting those.
They’re lying, of course. Democrats and their union buddies never support cutting anything. Ever.
They go nuts even if you try to cut the rate of increase of state spending. This is just more bullshit designed to keep stalling until the GOP gives in to the avalanche of new taxes they are hell-bent on writing into law - and into Californians’ wallets and purses.
