Fundraiser seeks immunity in Blagojevich probe — chicagotribune.com
A key figure in Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s alleged scheme to sell a U.S. Senate seat has sought immunity from federal authorities in return for his cooperation in their ongoing probe, the Tribune has learned.
…
On Sunday evening, Jackson’s lawyer, James Montgomery Sr., reacted to the news of Nayak’s bid for immunity by saying, “If that is indeed the case, and if that cooperation relates to my client, then [Nayak] is trying to save his own skin. That’s all I have to say.”
Gosh, if Nayak’s involvement with your client is without criminal blemish, then what does he need to save his skin from?

No.
Anyone who is serving or has served in any governmental capacity (elected or appointed) should be dismissed and not allowed to serve in any such capacity for at least five years.
Also, for three years, no elected or appointed office should be refilled. At the end of that time, we should know what is required and what is sinecure. (My guess is 10% required, 90% sinecure. Where they to do this, I would further surmise that the ‘reports’ would show we need 110% of the positions. Not that I am cynical…)
