Prospect of impeachment now looms over Blagojevich - Yahoo! News

Lawmakers Monday quickly shelved the idea of setting a special election where voters would fill the vacant Senate seat of President-elect Barack Obama — the seat the governor is accused of trying to sell before his arrest last week on federal corruption charges.

You know damned well there isn’t going to be any “special election.” Harry Reid doesn’t want any uncertainty about who the next Democrat Senator from Illinois is going to be, and the corrupt stewpot that is the Illinois legislature isn’t about to give the prize away either, any more than Pay-Rod Blagojevich would. They’ll impeach Blago, and the Loot Gov will be given his marching orders about who to appoint, and that will be the end of it. Along with any further threat to Obama’s squeaky-clean image.
