America’s newspaper industry has been imploding in the last few years, a development that predates the Wall Street collapse but has been hugely accelerated by the economic meltdown, forcing thousands of journalists onto the street. Where abouts are you, Growler? Any experience in tech writing?
NYS DOT (Albany, NY) is “not hiring” and “not bringing in more consultants” but in practice is doing so. They need at least one tech writer. Don’t know if they’ve got a butt to fill the seat(s) yet.
Geez,
How about bailing out a few of us typewriter repairmen while you are at it.
On another tack, good writers are always in demand in almost every field. The problem, of course, is that one would need some knowledge of the subject.
I was hired in one job, just so I could edit the bosses ideas into presentable format.
I wonder how free-lance business writers might do, if they were careful about their pricing.
