    Looks like McStain and Lieberman have some clout now.

    But what sort of clout? It boils down to this: “I have the power to break a filibuster against your leftist programs. What will you give me to employ that power, and permit your leftist programs to pass into law?

    If they take the quid, we get the quo. If they don’t take the quid….

    But politicians always, in the end, take the quid.

    UPDATE: And the quid almost always is, “I’ll throw some taxpayer money your way….”
