If I did not know it was incompetence that landed the Democrats in control, I would say it was inspired.
Leaving aside the arguments as to whether we should have been in any of the wars, Wilson, FDR, Truman, Kennedy/Johnson got us in the four big ones of the 2oth Century.
We won the 1st and 2nd. Truman waffled, and fired MacArthur (they should have let him go to Peking. Vietnam and all the rest would not have been necessary). JKF stumbled into Vietnam, Johnson stuttered with it.
I will also note that it is Democratic Congresses that tend to stab our ‘allies’ in the back.
Bush 1 did a half assed job on Gulf War 1, mostly because he is a Tranzi. Clinton DID NOT involve us in an endless landwar in Eastern Europe because he is a Tranzi (He let the UN do it, with their usual corruption, criminality and incompetence - granted, we got the blame…), and Bush II got us messed up because he is also a Tranzi socialist christian. (Exactly the worse combination as our host has pointed out.)
So, now we get Mr. Hopey Changey Socialist/Communist Tranzi, with solid control of the House and Senate, and our enemies (all self appointed - why no comment on that in any newspaper?) in Russia, China and Islam all moving ahead with their plans.
Will he do anything about it? No.
Will the Clintonistas actually running things do anything about it? Only if they have their noses rubbed in it, however, then it will be their War, with them in control.
So, it will be OK.
Does anyone remember that the August before 9/11, Taliban members destroyed statues of Bhudda that had been in Afghanistan for more than a 1000 years? There was an out cry from lefties demanding the US Government do something, like invade and punish the miscreants?
As long as it is a Democratic Government, the war will be OK.

I believe the Arabic word “abu” means both “a black person” and “a slave”
Most likely, given that the way the old Euro/American slave trade worked was local sub-Saharan blacks enslaved their enemies, then sold them to Arab slave traders, who then resold them to European slave dealers and shippers. From that POV, most of the blacks that Arabs came in contact with were also slaves.
I don’t speak Arabic, but IIRC “abu” is “father of”. Online translation of Arabic to English is a tremendous pain because of the character-set differences and the handedness - Arabic is written right to left. As a result, I can’t verify this.
