Fair Trial? Who Says They’re Fair Now?

Web-savvy young make bad jurors because they cannot listen, says Lord Chief Justice - Telegraph

He said: “Our system of jury trials depends on 12 good men and women and true coming to court and listening to the case. Orality is the crucial ingredient of the adversarial system.

This is in England, but the same sentiment is often bruited here in the US. It is, of course, horseshit of the purest ray serene.

Our system of jury trials depends on 12 jurors who submit to being blindfolded to everything about the case except what two scheming lawyers and another lawyer in black robes permit them to hear. I can think of nothing that would improve jury decisions more than giving each juror unfettered access to all the information surrounding any case.
