In an election year where Barack Obama pledged to change the electorate, the centrist Democratic Leadership Council has weighed into the debate with a detailed report arguing it will be difficult for Obama to earn enough African American and youth support to compensate for enduring Democratic failures with white voters.
The report, titled “Who are the swing voters,” finds that the party must make historic inroads with working class whites in order to create a sustainable presidential majority.
Good luck with that, given that the outreach effort consists of calling these folks, as Ace puts it, “racist, bitter, Bible-thumpin’ shotgun-pumpin’ cousin-humpin’ outhouse-dumpin” small town residents. That should win them over.

The slur is definitely not going to win votes, but small town residents have something the left doesn’t - a sense of humor. I expect some to laughingly wear those slurs as a badge of honor. Get some country western singer to incorporate the slurs into lyrics and set it to a catchy tune, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a hit.
Centrist? Talk about your oxymorons.
