MELBOURNE, Fla. — Tropical Storm Fay is becoming a catastrophic flooding event, dumping “historic” amounts of rain on parts of Florida, Gov. Charlie Crist said Wednesday.
The religious media is going to turn this dud of a summer storm into a St. Goreacle Global Warming Disaster ™ if it kills them.

The dearth of hurricanes making landfall the last couple of years is part of the reason the southeast has been experiencing some water shortages/restrictions. We actually kind of need tropical storms to dump a bunch of rain on us occasionaly. Obviously, that was Bush’s fault. And of course, now that some droughts might end due to heavy rain, that will be Bush’s fault again.
We had a tropical storm dump a buttload of rain on Richmond 4 summers ago. The system stalled over the city and dumped 4 inches/hour for about 6-8 hours. The drainage systesms simply could not handle it. Downtown flooded, roads washed away, bridges collapsed. Now that was an historic amount of rainfall for this area. What Fay is dumping? Ehh, not so much.
