Michelle Malkin » Amnesty alert: Tracking the Feinstein/Craig illegal alien farmworker amendment
Just keeping you up to date on the latest illegal alien amnesty push. As I noted last week, the Feinstein/Craig illegal alien farmworker amendment was tacked onto the Iraq war supplemental bill and will be up for a vote this week–likely Wednesday (see here and here for background).
They’ll try to run this shamnesty bill through today. Of particular interest: how will John McCain vote on it? Or will he be conveniently absent?
We’ll keep you posted.
UPDATE: Feinstein/Craig illegal alien farmworker measure “jettisoned”…for now. The disgusting side note: The provision was “knocked out” by Dem Senator Robert Menendez, who claimed it “didn’t do enough” for illegal aliens. Secopnd disgusting note: Only ten GOP Senators publicly protested this attempt to give amnesty to 1.4 million illegal alien “farm workers.” And here are some of the details of the attempted shamnesty:
# Grant a three-year work visa followed by a permanent greencard to all illegal aliens who have been working as shepherds, goat herders and dairy herders.# Grant a five-year work visa to the estimated 1.3 million illegal aliens working in other agricultural jobs — plus all of their families. There is no instruction on what happens after the five years.
Note that “plus all their families” kicker. What does that mean? Well, it probably means that we aren’t granting amnesty to 1.4 million illegals. It might be double that number. Or more.
