But in a guest column published in Friday’s student newspaper, Shvarts insisted the project was real. She described her “repeated self-induced miscarriages,” although she allows that she never knew if she was actually pregnant.

Hmm. I wonder, given that the artist herself is insisting that the most repulsive aspects of her “transgressive” art project are not a hoax, whether Ann Althouse, infallible art critic and hoax detector, will retract her statement about the “dopeyness” of those of us who didn’t immediately call this project a hoax.

Nah, probably not.
