Pajamas Media » Blog Archive » Sadr Rages Against Iran

Until now, Tehran has been masterfully controlling both Al Sadr and ISCI allies as a tool to increase its influence. Whether or not Washington sanctioned Maliki’s recent operations against the Mahdi army; the rift created between Iraq’s two major Shiite organizations is making Iran’s Iraqi adventure more cumbersome at least in the immediate future.

Consider the thinking in this dog’s breakfast of a sentence.

Iran, which “masterfully controls” the Badrs and the Sadrs, has for some unfathomable reason decided to permit the Badrs to attack the Sadrs, in order to make Iran’s adventures in Iraq more difficult.

Why, that makes sense, doesn’t it?

My assumption is that whatever Iran is up to, it isn’t trying to make its sub-rosa takeover of Iraq any more difficult. My secondary assumption is that whatever al Sadr or Maliki says publicly about the situation is a lie.
