Dutch anti-Koran film’s Web site shut down - CNN.com

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (AP) — The Web site where Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders was promoting his not-yet-released anti-Koran film has been suspended by its U.S. hosting service.

The site formerly showed the film’s title, “Fitna” — “Coming Soon” — and an image of a gilded Koran. Now it shows a note that the company — Network Solutions — is investigating whether the site violates its terms of service.

“Network Solutions has received a number of complaints regarding this site that are under investigation,” the note said.

Oh, crap. dailypundit.com is registered at Network Solutions. Now I’ll have to go to all the trouble of moving it somewhere else.

Damn.

    About your observation: “Now I’ll have to go to all the trouble of moving it somewhere else.” I think you’ve got a justifiable concern.

    Interestingly, Network Solutions hosts hizbollah.org - and the English version, “Islamic Resistance In Lebanon - Official Web Site”.

    I can’t help but think that there may be a two-tier system for complaints at Network Solutions: one for complaints about websites like the “Fitna” promotion, and another for websites like Hezbollah’s (or Hizbollah’s. or Hizbu’llah’s).

    There is no second tier. Complaints with the name Hezbollah in the subject or the body of the message simply get redirected to /dev/null, and any sort of followup via a different method of contact will simply be greeted with, “Complaint? What complaint?”

    I have been using Network Solutions for years. No more. I arranged to have my business transferred this morning. Their action in this matter is the equivalent of selling guns to the enemy.
