Former President Bill Clinton was in Denver, Colorado, stumping for his wife yesterday.
In a long, and interesting speech, he characterized what the U.S. and other industrialized nations need to do to combat global warming this way: “We just have to slow down our economy and cut back our greenhouse gas emissions ’cause we have to save the planet for our grandchildren.”
It’s campaign trail bullshit, of course. BJ is well aware that the only thing that kept him in office was the fact the he was riding a booming economy, and that he’d been smart enough to let it boom (except for the tax increases that probably slowed the boom somewhat…)
He’s just conning the watermelons here. No big deal. Move along.
