The Thompson campaign emails to announce they’ve had to shut down the doors at a couple of today’s campaign events because of overcrowding.
As I said, I think we’re about to see what will later be described as an “amazing turnaround” for Fred in South Carolina.
Of course, it will only be amazing to the mainstream media, which hoped that ignoring Thompson would make him go away.

THE NEW YORK TIMES reports that Fred Thompson is surging in South Carolina. And I just got an email from a journalist who says that crowds at Thompson events are suddenly over-capacity. Is it a tipping point for Thompson, or just a blip? Stay tuned.

This is great news and I hope it’s for real! Fred was just fabulous last night and I donated to his campaign *twice* during the debate, I was so enthused. I suspect others did, too!

Perhaps people are FINALLY seeing the sound policies of Senator Thompson in spite of media attempts to cover them with the false charges of “laziness” and/or “no fire in the belly.” Even some normally good conservatives bought into that nonsense.
We need to remember that we are only at the very beginning of this campaign anyway.
All I can say is “Praise God!” At last, people are beginning to understand what long-time Fred Thompson supporters have been seeing and saying for a long time! GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!

It is time to call out the conservatives. Honestly, ask yourself if the Republican you support is really a conservative. Does your candidate have some conservative positions and some liberal positions?
Conservative solutions give us commonsense, workable solutions. Liberal “solutions” cause unintended consequences. Don’t choose liberal.
I want a conservative. Fred.
This is outstanding news. Keep fighting the good fight. Conservatives and, more generally, the party needs Fred to win SC in the worst way.
Since Reagan left the White House, Centrist administrations have been in office so the last thing the GOP needs to do is nominate yet another Centrist politician.
I’m tired of conservative GOP being blamed for things which independent voters caused, if McCain and Huckabee are tops in the Republican national polls why then should I bother voting for the Republican Party..let the independent voter get them elected because I see no difference between their platforms and liberal Democrat platform.
On the other hand, maybe a high Misery Index will help to remind Americans why conservative principles work so well. Personally, I can survive such malaise since I do not have children to feed, a car to fuel and high property tax to pay plus, I can easily pull my investments out of the market and wait for safer days. Also, I live in the city twice attacked so I don’t need to be reminded a third time why we are at war.

I just voted in the Michigan primary. Fred made no effort here at all. We were bombarded by Romney, the Huckster and Mr. anti-free-speech.
I voted for Romney, not Fred, even though Fred is my guy. Fred has no chance in Michigan but I wanted Romney to win so as to stop any momentum for McLain which might impact Fred in other states.

No, Dean. I would have probably done the same thing. In the end, the best possible ticket (from a principled conservative point of view) would be Thompson and Romney, but Romney and Thompson would be better than any but the first.
So anything that helps either is probably good strategy. Either McCain or Huckabee at the top would be disastrous for the party, so anything that helps end their candidacies is to the good.

Now with McCain train slowed, here’s hoping Fred can kick some RINO butt.
