I realize that many bloggers who support Fred have been hitting their readers hard for donations recently – especially since Fred’s campaign has set as a goal raising $540,000 by tomorrow in order to finance his ad campaign. As of Thursday morning, the effort has realized $420,000 towards that goal.
My hope is that once again, speaking with one voice and calling on our readers to dig deep, we can duplicate our success from December’s blogburst, putting Fred way over the top and give the campaign a rocket powered boost into South Carolina and beyond.
Yeah, we’ve all been asking for you to dig deep.
But I can’t think of any other way we’re going to have a chance to get this thing done. If Fred can knock Huckabee out in South Carolina, the whole ball game changes. None of the primaries leading up to SC have been truly GOP primaries, which is why Huckabee and McCain have managed to do as well as they have.
But the message takes money, so give what you can. Kos can raise millions for morons. You’d think we could raise a few hundred grand for Fred. And by the way, I’d like to give a particular thank-you to SDN, who has contributed significantly more than half of the total DP has raised so far. Thanks, pal, you really put your money where your mouth is.

This is strange. Last night I dropped $500 for Fred by clicking on the Fred08 button in the upper right corner. This morning the value still hasn’t registered. It still shows this site has contributed $2675 when it should be at least $3175 now. Does that Fred meter work?
I’m planning to hit the $2600 spending limit in both the primary and the general. Thanks to “The George W. Bush Economy — Worst In 40 Years”TM I might be able to afford that…. and the last thing I want is for Hillary or Huckabee or (fill in statist of choice) to get their tentacles on the levers.
I just kicked in again, and we need one more $100 donation to get us to $3,000. C’mon, gang! :)
Woops, should have refreshed the page before posting that last. cremes, it can take a day or so before the amounts show in the meter.
Cremes, unfortunately, that meter is just a graphic. I have to go to the Daily Pundit fundraising page at the Thompson site where the donations are actually tallied and totaled, and then go into the code back here at DP and change the hardcoding to reflect the increases.
I just crawled out of bed about ten minutes ago, and have now updated. Your donation is included.

I already gave a bit a while back. Now I’m trying to do better; I just volunteered to go down to South Carolina and help on the campaign.
