Romney and McCain are now in a competition in New Hampshire to see—barring a Thompson resurrection—who will be the mainstream conservative alternative to him in those places.
That would be an interesting “competition,” Rich, given that of the three you mention, Fred Thompson is the only, you know, actual conservative.

thompson voted for mcain-feingold. he’s not reagan.. but he’s certainly better than the rest of the field.
Major, he’s also said he now regrets that vote. As for Reagan, he voted for amnesty for illegal aliens, so that makes Reagan…what? No Reagan?
