Hot Air » Blog Archive » Ron Paul’s campaign paid conspiracy nut Alex Jones $1,300?
Update: People are commenting that this is much more of a smoking gun re: Paul’s coziness with Jones than the donation Jones sent to Paul. I completely disagree. I’m willing to give Paul a pass on the donation he apparently received from Stormfront founder Don Black (assuming he returns the money, of course) since it’s reasonable to believe Paul doesn’t know who Black is. He and his people certainly know who Jones is, though, so why not return the donation immediately? Answer: Because Paul has no problem associating with Jones, as we already know from his many appearances on Jones’s show. In that sense, this whole gotcha game with the money is idiotic. Paul’s willing guest shots on nutjob radio are enough to fatally taint his candidacy, not this penny-ante donation/payment business.
No party - Dems, GOP, or Libertarian - is without its contingent of Truther Whackoffs, although the Dems and the Libs seem to harbor the largest asylums. That said, no party should do anything to indicate toleration for, or worse, acceptance of, their lunatic hallucinations, either.

Don Black endorsed Bush in 2004. Bush did not “renounce” him. Does that make Bush a neo-nazi? By your logic, it does.
Re Alex Jones: so no one can associate with 9/11 Truthers or they’re instantly unacceptable? Well, I guess we can’t watch “Two and a Half Men” because Charlie Sheen is a Truther. I guess CBS should “repudiate” Sheen, except that he just won an Emmy and it’s one of the most popular shows on TV.
This really is the worst you can find on Ron Paul? Then I know he’s going to win — and I suspect you do, too.
PS Bill — look for the Ron Paul Money Bomb on Nov. 5th — it’s going to be historic!
FYI: FZappa is spamming his retarded copypasta drivel all over the blogosphere. I’ll respond here as I have elsewhere, although I imagine this his comment is drive-by spam.
FZappa:
I’ll bet Don Black didn’t have a big huge W banner at Stormfront in ‘04, and I’ll bet all the racist scum at Stormfront weren’t working overtime to help W. In fact, if you said they were, I’d call you a f’ing filthy liar. But funny how you know who Don Black endorsed; are you a Stormfront thug yourself?
Also, I think it’s quite telling that you Paultards chose November 5th and are spamming that Guy Fawkes/Ron Paul video. Treason and anarchy are apparently considered virtues with you bottom-feeders. Funny that RP hasn’t renounced that, either.
So, George Bush’s Gran papi, Prescott Bush, funded and supported Adolph Hitler in 1933. Tried to overthrough the Government in 1939, and install a facist government. Does that Make GWB a Facist, hmmm Bad example…
But you get my point.
People aren’t responsible for what supporters think. I’d be more frightened of people who accept money from corporations. Like Billary, Obama and most the whole lot.
This is not spam from a spammer.
Why bother? FDR had already taken care of most of the to-do items on both the “How to Become a Communist Tyrrany” and “How to Install a Fascist Economy” lists.
Why so, you drooling dumbass? Do you think I’m a big Bush family fan?
Not content with just being whacked, you folks have to become imbeciles and ignoramuses as well. Figures.
Don’t let the door hit you in the ass, and take that sniveling illiterate Zappa with you when you go.
Thanks.
Ron Paul win the presidency? I hope you brought enough of that shit for everybody.
$1300 of Alex Jones’ $2300 donation was refunded, per the FEC disclosure. (See the update to my post.)
But why only a partial refund? I’m guessing RP sees a need to distance himself from troofer scum, but not COMPLETELY disavow them. If he did, his support base would all but disappear. He either agrees with them to some extent, or he’s being dishonest and trying to have it both ways.
Considering everyone knows who supports RP (conspiracy theory idiots, white supremacists, the JBS), he needs to denounce them firmly and unconditionally, or else he’s giving them a voice at the table. Maybe he doesn’t think they’re so bad, though–or maybe he just knows he’d have almost no support left.
Many leading American businessmen had longstanding investments in Germany through the 1920s into the 1930s and beyond. Brown Brothers Harriman; the firm that the president’s grandfather worked for, had investment with Fritz Thyssen, the steel tycoon who backed Hitler but had turned against him by 1939. Tom Watson had dealings with a counterpart firm of IBM. Dillon Read from where Forrestal, Nitze & Douglas Dillon came (democrats)
had arrangements with General Aniline a subsidiary of IG
Farben. The Rockefellers through Chase Manhattan, Standard Oil of New Jersey, and other companies had ties to IG Farben and other companies. Come to think of it, Jay
Rockefeller’s family had the most enduring ties to German
industry and later to Aramco. We don’t hold Rockefeller
responsible for his grandfather’s investments do we.
By the way, Don Black if he did vote, would probably vote
American Populist or some such. Maybe
