Israel believes that North Korea has been supplying Syria and Iran with nuclear materials, a Washington defense official told the New York Times. “The Israelis think North Korea is selling to Iran and Syria what little they have left,” he said.
Syria is in the worst position of almost all ME countries to start research into military nukes. As Israel has proved many times in the past (and once again in the past few days), the IAF can pretty much strike at will anywhere in the country. No matter what else happens, I very much doubt that Israel will permit Syria to become a nuclear power right next door.
