Obama says use of nuclear weapons to fight al-Qaida ‘not on the table,’
WASHINGTON (AP) - Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama said Thursday he would not use nuclear weapons «in any circumstance.
«I think it would be a profound mistake for us to use nuclear weapons in any circumstance,» Obama said, with a pause, «involving civilians.» Then he quickly added, «Let me scratch that. There’s been no discussion of nuclear weapons. That’s not on the table.

BARACK’S BLUNDER
INVADE A NUCLEAR POWER?
I think I finally understand why Bam Bam doesn’t give a damn whether Iran gets nukes or not. He figures if they become a problem, we’ll just invade them, nuclear power or not.
Of course, we would never use our own nukes in the invasion….
By the way, he doesn’t have a prayer of getting the Veep slot on Hillary’s ticket. The cold-hearted, hard-headed bean counters helping to make the decisions in the Clinton campaign understand that while it may be possible to sell the First Female President (especially since she’s already been co-President for eight years, and will be bringing her co-President, BJ, along for the ride) but that it will be utterly impossible to sell a ticket consisting of the First Female and the First Black President to America as it exists today.
Some racism and sexism involved? Sure. Absolutely. But in the real world (and nothing is more real that Hillary’s War Room) they don’t pretend such things don’t exist.

I don’t see any possibility that calculating Hillary Clinton will place Barack Obama on her presidential ticket.
So who will Hillary select as a running mate? I’m at a loss. Not Edwards, too pretty. Not Kuchinich, too weird. Not the Mad How, not Kerry, not Obama, so who? Surely not the Goracle?
Why not. The Clinton/Gore ticket won twice. And think of the savings on bumper stickers and signs.
“Save the environment, recycle Clinton/Gore!”
Eh, who knows who she’ll pick, but it won’t be Gore, nor any of her rivals on the stage of dozens — it’ll likely be a governor/former governor from some state determined to be strategic to her pollsters.
Oh, please, God grant me Hillary/Obama. The funniest ticket since Perot/Admiral What’s His Name.
Perot was a paranoid government-sucking whackjob. But one of the things I despise him most for was turning Admiral James Stockdale into a laughingstock.
Stockdale, a Medal of Honor winner, the highest ranking POW in Vietnam, and a fine officer and man, sullied his own memory in support of a man not fit to lick the ground Stockdale walked on.
Dennis Miller put it well:
In a 1993 stand-up routine, comedian Dennis Miller vehemently defended Stockdale’s reputation:
It is symptomatic of the sickness of our society that we still easily remember a bubbling loon like Perot, while a man like Stockdale becomes “Admiral What’s His Name?”
I hope that if I am ever tested, I can live up to the standard that Stockdale set for himself, and met:
Admiral Stockdale died two years ago. He is buried with high honor in the cemetery of the U.S. Naval Academy.
Requiescat in pace.
Enlighten US Be Yo. Give US a peek at your strategy against yo bro’s. Izzal good cause you gots plenty o’rightees to send in, tie deys han’s a feed’m to Islam.
Hmmm, interesting. Apparently the dumbasses among us are even losing the ability to speak elementary English.
Deb? Deb Frisch? Is that you?
I apologize to the Admiral and his family for my comment. I can only plead ignorance, which I am glad has been corrected.
nemo, the ignorance wasn’t individual on your part. It has become cultural, thanks to the brain-sucking capabilities of mass media. I thought the same thing, until somebody enlightened me, too.
And Dennis Miller - I keep forgetting why I like him so much, but has anybody ever put their finger on the heart of the beast so precisely: “…the one unpardonable sin in our culture: he was bad on television.”
