Union at Dow Jones Hits Murdoch Victory, Urges Negotiations
NEW YORK The Independent Association of Publishers’ Employees, Local 1096, which represents over 2000 Dow Jones professionals, quickly criticized the reported victory for Rupert Murdoch today in his bid to buy Dow Jones.
Early this afternoon, a statement emerged from IAPE President Steve Yount, declaring that the union is “disappointed with the apparent decision by key Bancroft family members to support the sale of Dow Jones & Company to News Corp.
“At the same time, no matter who owns Dow Jones going forward, IAPE members — over two thousand strong — will continue to band together to fight for their interests. That includes negotiating a quality collective bargaining agreement.”
Hey, Rupert. Fire all these bozos and start over.
And somebody hand me the popcorn, please, while I sit back, put up my feet, and prepare to watch the NYT wallow in an extended fit of hysterics - shortly before an invigorated WSJ starts eating their breakfast, lunch, and dinner, financially and journalistically speaking.

yep. The Times is already twisting and squirming because this means some competition from the other side of the fence and Murdock has some bucks.
