Geffen Has Left the Althouse

Althouse: “Everybody in politics lies, but [the Clintons] do it with such ease, it’s troubling.”

“Everybody in politics lies, but [the Clintons] do it with such ease, it’s troubling.”

That’s just one of the mean things David Geffen said, as quoted by Maureen Dowd (TimesSelect) and being talked about everywhere.

This is why I have so little use for the milquetoast middle-of-the-roaders, so smug about their “moderation.”

Althouse, presumably intelligent, offers as a first, and primary reaction to Geffen’s statement that it’s “mean…” And in the world of the smugly moderate, apparently there is no greater crime than meanness.

Never mind whether what Geffen said is true….

Of course, out in the real world, we know that Althouse is backing Hillary one hundred - no, make that one thousand - percent, so her sudden distaste for meanness (as long as it isn’t her candidate being mean, in which case it’s okay) becomes rather easy to evaluate.

By the way, I don’t have any problem with bloggers pushing their favorite candidates. If I’m ever able to find one I like well enough to push, I’ll push. On the other hand, I won’t make any pretence to moderate, unbiased objectivity while I’m doing it.
