Pajamas Media: Edwards Stands By His Bloggers:

The Edwards campaign just released statements from Edwards and the two bloggers in the thick of the controversy (Amanda Marcotte and Melissa McEwan), and it looks as if the two won’t be fired. (Greg Sargent @ TPM Cafe)

“The statement says Edwards was “personally offended” by their writings, but that he also believes in “giving everyone a fair shake” and that he’s “talked” to the bloggers, that they’ve assured him “that it was never their intention to malign anyone’s faith,” and that he takes them “at their word.” The statement doesn’t directly address the firing question, but it appears that they’re going to be okay.”

Excellent. Now the new part-time amusement on the blogging right can be digging out even more scurrilous remarks from the two hot-headed, potty-mouthed women. Apparently Edwards has decided to like the kitchen. Let’s see how well he bears up under the heat. I’ll start:

I respect women too much to respect their rights at Pandagon

t’s true. At my coven’s weekly meeting, we cast some spells cursing women who exploit the most maudlin stereotypes about women in order to advance the cause of stripping away our collective rights. Then we had some beers, which we drank in a manly fashion as we cackled about small penises. But I’ve said too much.

Probably. But there are tons more where that came from.

You’ll see.
