US President George W Bush intends to reveal a new Iraq strategy within days, the BBC has learnt. The speech will reveal a plan to send more US troops to Iraq to focus on ways of bringing greater security, rather than training Iraqi forces.
Prediction: This, too, will fail, because it doesn’t address the real problem that our enemies are safely across two borders from Iraq, and President Bush has no intention of touching them.
Bluntly: Every single additional death because of this “Surge to Victory” is that much more unforgiveably unnecessary blood on George Bush’s hands. If we aren’t going to fight to win, we probably shouldn’t be fighting at all.
