AN ARTICLE IN THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR profiles Bill Roggio’s blog-reporting from Iraq, but worries that his readers are getting a one-sided picture if they don’t follow traditional Big Media coverage, too. True enough, though the Big Media coverage is hard to avoid unless you actively try to.Of course, they might be eschewing Big Media coverage because of things like CNN’s admitted sucking-up to Saddam, Reuters’ various fauxtography scandals, AP’s Jamil Hussein problem, and the like. And aren’t the Big Media consumers getting a one-sided, agenda-driven picture, too? That would seem to be a bigger problem.
To folks like Glenn, me, and Daily Pundit readers, the notion that Big Media might be providing a one-sided picture isn’t hard to countenance. It is, in fact, a proven article of faith. But to Big Media itself, which thinks a combination of Bob Wright (strong lefty) and Mickey Kaus (moderate liberal) covers the entire span of respectable ideology - even though both are, by any standards, to the left of center - the notion that it might not be providing a balanced picture isn’t just anathema, it is, literally, unthinkable.
The problem, one all too common in the blogosphere, is that Roggio has become less a reporter than a validator of the pro-war viewpoint to many. He has become a phenomenon among war supporters, most of whom, judging from reader comments, read him largely because they agree with his views.
The problem, one all too common in the mainstream media, is that the MSM has become less a reporter than a validator and originator of the anti-war viewpoint….

A proven article of faith? You just single-handedly defeated an invading android army.
